A teaser trailer has been released for Alice Through the Looking Glass (2016), the long-awaited sequel to Tim Burton’s 2010 adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s beloved novel Alice in Wonderland.
Returning as just a producer this time round, the film has been directed by English filmmaker James Bobin, whose previous credits include The Muppets (2011) and Muppets Most Wanted (2014).
The plot of the film, once again written by Linda Woolverton, is scarcely known, though it is believed to centre around Alice (Mia Wasikowska) travelling back in time to Wonderland in order to save the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp).
Other returning cast members include Anne Hathaway as the White Queen, Helen Bonham Carter as the Red Queen, Alan Rickman as the Caterpillar and Stephen Fry as the Cheshire Cat. New characters will include Time (Sacha Baron Cohen), Zanik Hightopp, aka The Mad Hatter’s father (Rhys Ifans), Addison Bennet (Andrew Scott).
Alice Through the Looking Glass is released in UK cinemas 27 May 2016
